My mother has made these for my siblings and I since I can remember. Always been a favourite! Super easy recipe. Highly recommend.

I’ve been eating these cookies for 75 years, so has my husband. Must say something about how delicious they are.

I make these a lot (cause I love them). I always reduce the sugar because I don't have much of a sweet tooth. Awesome recipe.

Whenever my parents were away, our great aunt Winnie whose fiancé died in WW1, came to keep house. Inter alia, she'd make Peanut Biscuits.. Oh the comfort in picking out and nibbling the peanuts grilled on the biscuits' extremities! I leave out a spoonful of sugar and replace it with golden syrup or sometimes molasses/ treacle like she did. And to get the golden colour she achieved, I don't use cocoa, but anything yellow.. gram flour or a teaspoonful of turmeric. She would encourage these variations; so do I.
