It’s nice but it tastes like it needs more banana. I put less sugar (only 1/3 of a cup. Bought banana bread is darker and speckled like a banana cake should be.

The family loved this banana recipe. I used brown sugar instead of white, it’s what I had on hand at the time. Definitely will make this again

My mum and dad lived in NZ in the late 1950's and early 60's. On their return to Australia they bought with them Edmonds cookbook. I am now 62 years young and I've been eating this banana cake/bread since I can remember. Mums poor cookbook hasn't lasted the test of time but this recipe sure has. My family loves it. Thank you Edmonds for your fabulous recipes. 10 out of 10 for this recipe.

Turned out amazing! I had to add a splash more of milk to my mix but other than that, tasted delicious and homely! I also added two handfuls of chocolate chips and vanilla extract. I wish I added some cinnamon though for a fuller flavour. Good thing about this recipe is that you can make slight adjustments quite easily to fit your own taste!

1st bread in this cook book, it is delicious, quick to make & nicer with real butter - also this bread is nice to eat when not hot.
