Star Biscuits

Ingredients

To Decorate

  • 150 g dark cooking chocolate
  • 30 g sprinkles

Method

  1. Beat with electric beaters the butter, caster sugar and vanilla for 3 minutes, until light and fluffy.
  2. Sift flour and cornflour into the mixture and combine to form a soft dough. Mould into a ball shape.
  3. Line a baking tray with baking paper. Place the dough on the paper and place another sheet of baking paper on the top. Roll out (not too thinly).
  4. Chill in the fridge for 20 minutes and preheat the oven to 180°C.
  5. Cut the dough into star shapes and arrange on a lined tray. Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until pale golden. Remove from tray and allow to cool.
  6. Microwave the chocolate for 30 seconds on medium, then stir. Repeat until melted and smooth.
  7. Dip half of each biscuit into the chocolate and decorate with sprinkles.

Tip

  • Perfect for celebrating Matariki.

Not an artist but I think these turned out quite good. Even cut my own star template.

Made this recipe with my tama, he loved stamping out and decorating the cookies, but his favourite part by far was eating them!
