Toasted Muesli

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup oil;
  • 1/4 cup Chelsea brown sugar;
  • 1/4 cup honey;
  • 3 cups rolled oats;
  • 1/2 cup coconut;
  • 1/2 cup Edmonds Wheat Germ;
  • 1/2 cup Edmonds Wheat Bran flakes;
  • 1/2 cup sunflower seeds;
  • 1/2 cup sesame seeds;
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts;
  • 1/2 to 1 cup raisins or sultanas or other dried fruit

Method

1. Preheat oven to 150ÂșC.

2. Put oil, sugar and honey into a saucepan. Heat gently until sugar dissolves.

3. In a bowl combine rolled oats, coconut, wheat germ, bran flakes, sesame and sunflower seeds and nuts. Pour oil mixture over and mix thoroughly. Turn into a large roasting pan.

4. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until lightly browned. Stir occasionally.

5. Leave to cool then add dried fruit.

6. Store in an airtight container.
