A magic pudding trick in which sugar and cocoa on top of the pudding mixture are miraculously transformed into a smooth chocolate sauce underneath it. Always a favourite with children and adults alike.

This is so good
mmmmm
As below...didn't read comments so dry with sauce sitting on top
Come on Edmonds… update your recipe. As per all the comments it needs 1/2 a cup of milk.
Best recipe ever
I make this all the time ,but not on a small scale, i ise a roasting tray ,my kids clear it in 24hrs along with friends when they hear I'm making it, admittedly i alter the recipe slightly to make it with more cake. Still tastes good though. Add 1/2 - 3/4 cup of milk ,basically a chocolate cake with a sauce .
Mmm been reading the results from others ...thinking look around first before I waste ingredients
Tried to make this and found that the base mixture was very dry, there seemed to be way to much water and all in all, it was a disaster
Shouldn't there be milk in the recipe? is this a mistake in the recipe? very dry batter and after baking there was no choc sauce cause i imagine the batter sucked it up. kids liked it though
We made this when I was a kid. Pretty sure the recipe not same as the base was almost same as a sponge recipe. This version is very dry with not enough sauce. Will make again tonight with 1/2 c milk to base and extra cup of water as others have suggested. See how we go. I’m sure the kids will eat it regardless!!
Recipe sucks, way too dry. Wish a read reviews before wasting my ingredients…
