Chocolate Truffles

Serve these after dinner, or make up a box of them for a festive gift. Chocolate heaven.

  • 100g unsalted butter

    100g dark chocolate

    1 cup icing sugar, approximately

    1 Tbsp rum

    1 tsp cocoa

    fine desiccated or shredded coconut

    chocolate hail

  • 1. Put the butter and chocolate into a saucepan and heat gently, stirring until melted.

  • 2. Add ½ cup of the icing sugar and stir until the mixture is thick, then add the rum and cocoa. Add enough of the remaining icing sugar to form a stiff mixture.

  • 3. Scoop out tablespoonfuls of the mixture and shape into balls, then roll in the coconut or chocolate hail and chill until firm.
