Cheesy Oat Loaf

More like a bread loaf than a cake. Meant to be eaten buttered or with chutney and cheese.

  • 2 eggs

    1¼ cups milk

    ¼ cup oil

    ½ tsp salt

    1 Tbsp sugar

    1 cup rolled oats

    1 cup Edmonds wheat bran

    1½ cups grated tasty cheese

    1 cup Edmonds wholemeal flour

    ½ cup Edmonds standard flour

    4 tsp Edmonds baking powder

  • 1. Preheat the oven to 180ºC. Grease and line a 22cm loaf tin.

  • 2. Beat the eggs in a bowl with milk and oil. Add salt, sugar, oats, bran, cheese and wholemeal flour. Sift in flour and baking powder. Mix well to combine.

  • 3. Spoon into loaf tin. 

  • 4. Bake or 45 to 50 minutes or until loaf springs back when lightly touched. Leave in tin for 10 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack.
