Ingredients

1 cup rolled oats; 1/2 cup cold water; 1/2 tsp salt; 4 cups boiling water

Method

1. Put the oats, cold water and salt into a saucepan. Mix to a smooth paste.

2. Gradually stir in boiling water. Boil for 3 to 5 minutes, stirring constantly.

VARIATIONS:

Any of the following toppings can be added

  • brown sugar and milk
  • fruit and yoghurt
  • bananas and cinnamon
