Hot Chocolate Sauce

A rich, dark chocolate sauce which you can serve warm with ice cream, or allow it to cool and spread it over a cake.

  • 170g dark chocolate

    300ml water

    100g sugar

    pinch of cinnamon

  • 1. Chop the chocolate and put it in a saucepan with the water. Set over a gentle heat and stir until the chocolate is melted and smooth.

  • 2. Add the sugar and cinnamon and stir over the heat until the sugar dissolves, then bring to the boil and simmer gently for 10–15 minutes or until the sauce has a rich and syrupy consistency.
